Melodic Motion Challenge!

Up, Up, Up and Away!
Create a melody that ascends from the very lowest note to the very highest note on your choice of instrument! Think about:
How long will your melody be? Will your melody last 10 seconds or an hour?
Will your melody be made of leaps, steps or a mixture?
The speed in which your melody ascends. Will your melody ascend slowly or quickly? Or will your melody start ascending slowly and then speed up? Or will your melody continually change the rate in which is ascends?
Leap Frog!

Create a melody that only leaps from note to note! Think about:
How easy or difficult different instruments find leaping around?
Will you vary the size of the different intervals between notes?
What your would like the character of your melody to be? Would you like your melody to be angry and angular or happy and jumpy? How will the intervals shape the character of your melody?
Combining Ingredients!
Create a melody that combines all the different melodic motions: conjunct, disjunct, ascending and descending. Think about:
How balanced you want to use the movements - will they all be equally used?
The overarching story and structure of your melody.
How you will make your melody feel cohesive, or whether you want your melody to feel more random and surprising.
